Darrel was born Keene, N.H. and raised in a very small town (approx 200 people) he attended attended college at Keene State College, a division of the University of New Hampshire.

While in Michigan traveling, he met his wife, a Michigan native. In 1972, he moved to Michigan in 1974 and got married. He and his wife have 2 very independent children (that both now live on Maui).

Darrel worked in the automotive industry for 20+ years.Manufacturing, Management,
Engineering and Sales. He feels fortunate to be very successful in sales and after 10 years was able to make a significant life and career change.

In late 1997 Darrel moved to Hawaii with his wife. He began work at Maui - Seafood in March of 1998 and worked in the day to day processing to learn the operation.
